Jesus' Idea of Repair

It may be an unpopular opinion, but 2020 was a year of breakthrough for me. Many {grateful} wins after years of crushing losses.

But this week, in particular, I sat with the reality that while I may not have sustained losses in 2020 that rivaled the losses of years prior, I felt bereft in a few respects.

Robbed of experiences, relationships, organizations that I would not have otherwise forgone. Specifically, in friendship and community.

Don’t get me wrong, the community of friends and family I have is gold. God has blessed me with some of the greatest friends I’ve ever known. Ones who are just as invested in our friendship as I am.

In that elevation, there is a cloud of grief that I have felt when I look back at relationships over the years with those who I shared faith with. Briefly stated, we may both recognize that salvation is through Jesus Christ, but that seems to be near to where our shared beliefs end. And, that is a heavy grief. Both for our friendship and for the image of Jesus they carry and showcase to others.

I pray for repair.
